The pedal itself is connected to the metal base with one bolt, check to see if it is tight.
The spring (the red part) is connected to the same metal base on the other side, check to see if it is tight there.
Now check where the two above items connect.. make sure that is tight.
Make sure your spring in the red plastic sleeve has not come loose some how.. i've never had that issue but you might.
If you have a dead pedal or one that is spiking you can see where the potentiometer is, with the three wires going to it.. I have not replaced one myself but i'm sure it's possible.
That's all thats to them.. the only thing that might make it a little difficult is if the gear mechanism that makes the pedal turn the pot is screwed up.. but i'm sure it would still be repairable.
No idea's off the top of my head, but the pedals are the easiest of all the G25 components to open up and take a look. I'm sure it will be a very quick fix.
There's some sort of issue with FPS on LFS, I don't know for sure what the bottleneck is, but I get 35-40FPS at 5040x1050 with everything max'd.
LFS is the only game where my framerate didnt skyrocket.
rFactor went from 30ish to 50ish FPS at 5240x1050.
I can even play Age of Conan at 5040x1050 now... but at 1680x1050 I run with everything on the game max'd and I get 40-50FPS outdoors, 20ish FPS in towns.
The only reason I don't want TripleHead2Go is the resolutions... I would take such a big hit...
The reason I was thinking that m/b is with that 3.0GHZ chip, that cooler on the CPU.. water cooling on the M/B and Video card and DDR3 ram I should be able to over clock it like crazy..
I might be able to get into windows at 5.0GHZ...hahaha can you imagine how pissed i'd be if I got it to 5.0GHZ and loaded LFS and was still running at 38 FPS hahahahahah, ok, lets not go there, it's just bad luck.
I won't lie. I LOL'd so hard that I almost spit the coffee out of my mouth. heheheheh
As for the card, I said i'd write what I thought of it on my first post.
So, my opinion of the GTX 280 to sum it up is "Holy crap" "OMG" and "WTF? Wow".
I cannot believe how much power this card has. Playing Age of Conan (single screen, high detail) my FPS went from 45 to 85.
That would be normal if my old card was, well, old.. but that is the improvement I got going from an 8800GTX to this GTX280.
Unfortunatly LFS is the only game that didnt benefit from this upgrade... the FPS didnt change at all, same 38-40 non stop, but at least I can raise the graphics to everything max'd.. Only problem is when playing LFS using SoftTH I get a problem with noise.. static type noise that is associated with engine RPM. Slower static at idle and it gets quicker during revs.
rFactor and GTR2 are smooth as butter, both playing at 5240x1050 with all details cranked... i'd say 50ish FPS.
I am debating about going to the 790i Ultra chipset with a 3.0GHZ 6MB cache Core 2 Duo and DDR3... Either 2 or 4GB, the only thing is if I go 4GB I have 1.5GB video memory now so I need to go with 64bit Vista.. I'm worried about what games won't work, since this is a gaming rig.
I just find it a bit odd that I can run Age of Conan triple screen at the same FPS as LFS... rFactor runs smooth as butter now... but like anik360 was saying maybe it's just my clock speed or maybe I have hit the limitations of SoftTH.
Oh how I wish someone would relase a proper hardware device that would properly support higher resolution widescreen monitor. Get off your ass Matrox, support for a TripleHead2Go Y2K widescreen edition is what we need so I can go triple SLI
Some tests the GX2 wins, some the GTX280 wins.. Nvidia said this is the last generation of single GPU cards they release.. once 2xGPU is the standard I think the support will be better and I will make the jump over to it then...
I just upgraded my PC video card from an 8800GTX to a GTX280. The max FPS is the exact same, but now the quality doesnt matter... I can put everything at the absolute lowest settings and it will give me 35-40FPS on hot lapping.. or if I go everything max'd my FPS stays the exact same, 35-40..
Since I installed my video card I also get a static sound associated with the engine rev's... wtf? it sounds like I have a bad ground on my car stereo lol..
System:
Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8GHZ ---OC'd---> to 2.66
2GB Mushkin DDR2 ram
Nvidia GTX280
Nvidia 8400GS
2 x 150GB Western Digital Raptors Raid-0
Windows Vista Premium 32-bit
SoftTH
3 x 22 inch samsung monitors.
Both rFactor's and Age of Conan's FPS skyrocketed when I put the new card in, I can now play rFactor at 5240x1050 with everything in the game set at absolute max and I get 50-60FPS non-stop... Age of Conan shot up from 45FPS to 85-100 as well.. but LFS stayed the exact same other than the fact I can run it at higher quality now.. but even at the same quality the FPS did not move up at all?
JakG if you read this, you always talk about turbocache? I'm pretty sure my card has it, would that have anything to do with it?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
heheheh ok well it sounds bad when you say it all in one sentance...
lol, I like my gaming and movie watching, plus i'm in the audio/video industry so I just tell my wife it's to help with product knowledge
I'd love to add a second card but SoftTH doesnt support two cards.. thats the only reason I bought this one... I need as much horse power as I can get from a single card.. two cards won't work.
Give it a couple weeks though, welding gear will be here by then.. Who know's what the (very) near future holds? This is version 3 of my cockpit... version 4 might be coming soon
I can't give you an exact FPS because honestly I usually play on my triple screen setup now that it's almost done. The media center PC is:
P4 - 3.4GHZ
1GB ram
7800GT
Vista Home Premium 32-bit.
I havent played with a full grid but on hot lapping it runs very smooth.. I'll see if I can find out tomorrow.
Once I upgrade my main PC (the one used in the youtube video) then I can take those parts and upgrade the media center, then it will run smooth as butter.
lol, funny vid, but its kind of pointless.. the reason I have 4 xbox's is because you need one per screen for Forza 2... I have none in my bathroom or in my car
